Your Sixth Form. Your pathway.
There is no single route to success. That is why our Year 12 curriculum gives you the flexibility to choose from A Levels, vocational and alternative academic qualifications, or a specialist T Level programme.
Most students follow a programme equivalent to at least three Level 3 qualifications, and we will work with you to find the combination that best supports your future plans.
- A Levels – From exploring genetics, astrophysics and quantum physics to developing software, designing electronic systems and creating new products, our A Level curriculum allows you to take your interest in STEM further.
- Technical, vocational and alternative academic qualifications – If you prefer learning that combines academic knowledge with practical application, we offer a range of high-quality technical and vocational pathways.
- Engineering is at the heart of WMG Academy. Depending on the pathway you choose, you could study areas including engineering principles, materials science, computer-aided design (CAD), mechanical product design, manufacturing and engineering practice.
- Our BTEC Engineering pathway can be studied as a Diploma equivalent to two A Levels, allowing it to be combined with another qualification, or as an Extended Diploma equivalent to three A Levels.
- If you know that you want a highly technical route with substantial real-world experience, a T Level could be for you. T Levels are two-year technical programmes equivalent to three A Levels, designed with employers to provide the knowledge and skills that industry needs.
- Do you have a special interest or area of expertise? Students can also choose to complete an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), giving them the opportunity to explore a topic of personal interest through an independent project supported by a supervisor developing valuable skills in research, planning, analysis, problem-solving and independent study that are highly valued by universities and employers.
Results that open doors
Our students leave WMG Academy ready for their next step – progressing to university, higher and degree apprenticeships and employment. In 2026, 100% of WMG Academy Solihull T Level students successfully passed their qualification, with almost 70% achieving a Merit or Distinction.
Behind those results are individual students moving on to exciting destinations and building careers in engineering, technology, science and beyond. That is what Sixth Form at WMG Academy is designed to achieve: not simply a set of qualifications, but a destination.
Support for your next step
Choosing what to do after GCSEs is a big decision – and we do not expect you to make it alone.
Every Year 12 student participates in our pastoral and enrichment programme, which includes employer and university engagement alongside high-quality careers and destinations guidance. We will help you think carefully about where you want to go and make sure that your programme of study supports your ambitions.
Whether your next destination is university, a degree apprenticeship, a higher apprenticeship or employment, our aim is simple: to help you leave WMG Academy with the qualifications, experience and confidence to succeed.
