25 businesses and education providers were represented at a careers fair at WMG Academy Solihull this week.
Companies included Jaguar Land Rover, Rolls-Royce, Balfour Beatty, Cummins, Redrow, Cadent and WMG.
All students in years 11, 12 and 13 attended the event to find out about apprenticeships, employment, training and courses on offer after they leave WMG Academy.
Owen Houghton, a Design Engineer at Rolls-Royce, said: “The students at WMG Academy are enthusiastic about the lines of work available at Rolls-Royce. Students at the academy have a background in engineering and workshop experience as well as academic grades and that is beneficial.”
Jane Dexter from WMG said: “It’s nice that the students at WMG Academy already have an understanding of apprenticeships, so we are able to give them more information rather than explaining the basics. They have been asking very sensible questions and it’s nice to see their enthusiasm.”
