Students at WMG Academy Solihull are today celebrating outstanding results in maths and triple science.
In higher maths 96% of students achieved Grade 9-4, and in further maths the academy achieved a 100% A*-C rate, with the majority of students achieving the top grades of A*-A.
The Grade 9-4 rate for biology and physics was 100%, with 91% of students achieving Grade 9-4 in chemistry.
The academy also saw 10% of all students achieving at least one Grade 9 at GCSE (higher than an A* in the old A*-G system).
The success follows on from last week’s A-level and BTEC results, with the academy seeing a 100% A-level pass rate and 97% Merit or above in BTEC engineering.
Mr Stewart Tait, Principal of WMG Academy Solihull, said: “As an academy specialising in science technology, engineering and maths, we are absolutely delighted with this year’s results and extremely proud of all our students who have worked incredibly hard.
“These results demonstrate the tenacity, talent and teamwork of our students and staff and we will continue to work together to build on our success.”
Many students will stay at WMG Academy to study A-levels and BTEC qualifications. Others have secured impressive apprenticeships with local, national and global companies.
WMG Academy for Young Engineers provides GCSE, A-level and BTEC education for 14 to 19-year-olds with an interest in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). It is rated ‘Good’ across all categories.
