This was an amazing opportunity to visit the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) in Grenoble. Myself and another 15 girls across the UK who studied Physics applied for a chance to visit the labs. For me it was amazing to have met all these new people but it was also great to see the science that we study applied to real life situations. I left there with much more knowledge about real life science and also made many new friendships that I hold to this day. I’m very grateful to have had this once in a lifetime opportunity. – Safiyah Jahic
