Please see the letter below from WMG Academy Solihull Prinicipal Mr Tait about our procedure in the event of adverse weather.
Dear Parent/Carer
Due to recent weather conditions and forecasts, I feel it timely to contact parents and carers and confirm the arrangements for closing the Academy in the event of snow.
It will always be our intention to keep the Academy open for as long as practically possible. However, we do have to consider the Health and Safety of the students and staff.
In the event of heavy snow and the decision being made to close the Academy, you would find confirmation in the following places:
a) Academy website
b) A text alert will be sent out to parental mobile phone contact numbers
c) An email will be sent to the main parental email address
d) Local radio station snowlines
This decision is anticipated to be made by 7.00 am on the morning of the snow so please check for information from this time. Unless the decision to close has been officially communicated as outlined above, parents/carers and students should always presume that the Academy is open as usual.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
Yours sincerely
Stewart Tait
Associate Principal
