WMG Academy Solihull is delighted to renew its partnership with the Royal Academy for Engineering through The Lord Bhattacharyya Engineering Education Programme.
The Lord Bhattacharyya Engineering Education Programme is an initiative launched by the Academy in March 2020. The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is funding the five-year, £2.5 million programme in memory of the late Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya CBE FREng FRS, founder of WMG (formerly the Warwick Manufacturing Group). Lord Bhattacharyya led WMG for nearly 40 years until his death in March 2019. He was a leader in industry-academia collaboration, and was extremely passionate about inspiring the next generation of engineers and technicians.
WMG Academy Solihull joins sister academy, WMG Academy Coventry and other local schools in delivering the programme in memory of Professor Lord Bhattacharyya who not only founded the WMG Academies but also provided for continued engineering education in his legacy.
