WMG Academy for Young Engineers makes the safety and welfare of all learners its top priority.
At WMG Academy, we are committed to supporting the academic, personal, and emotional development of every student through a strong culture of pastoral care and wellbeing. Our dedicated pastoral team works closely with students and families to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment where young people can thrive, feel supported, and achieve their full potential.
Safeguarding and child protection are at the heart of our pastoral provision and duty of care. We recognise that promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility, and all staff play a vital role in providing a safe environment in which students can learn and succeed. As part of a wider safeguarding system, we work closely with external agencies to protect and support young people, always maintaining an attitude of “it could happen here.” We listen to and consider the wishes of each child and ensure that their best interests remain central to every decision we make, helping every student feel safe, valued, and supported throughout their time at WMG Academy.
Parents can find out more about safeguarding and supporting their children online on the Department for Education’s ParentWise website.
