By the end of your learning journey in BTEC Art and Design you will have developed knowledge, understanding and skills through integrated practical, critical and contextual study that encourages direct engagement with original works and practices.

You will develop skills in:

You will develop knowledge and understanding of the visual communication and creative processes that will develop your creative voice. While developing an understanding of the importance and influence of the work of artists and designers to understand and realise their creative intentions. You will produce a portfolio of art and design work to support progression to higher education and employment.

In Art and Design  you have the freedom to explore a range of mediums, sources, themes that involve the development of personal work and lines of inquiry determined by the need to explore an idea, convey an experience or respond to a theme or issue.

As part of the learning journey you will have an open forum to express yourself through creative mediums and themes and also the opportunity to work with artists and internal commission.
