WMG Academy Solihull received a ‘good’ rating across all categories in its first ever Ofsted inspection (2019).
The academy was praised for its business ethos, teaching standards and student behaviour, as well as its safeguarding and leadership.
The report revealed that the Academy had “in a short space of time, created a school in which the ethos of ‘business-like – business led’ prevails and pupils benefit from many opportunities to engage with prestigious employers.”
It added: “Pupils display a business-like attitude, dress smartly, behave professionally and work hard. Pupils are exceptionally well prepared for their next steps.”
Executive Principal Kate Tague said: “We are delighted with the Ofsted report, especially as we have only been open for two years and this was our first ever inspection. “It is testament to the staff and the students here who work very hard to put the academy on the map as the place to go for a career-based education”.
Associate Principal Stewart Tait said “We have managed to create an inclusive ethos where all students feel valued, have strong aspirations and develop business behaviours employers hold in the highest regard and that is evident from the successes of former students who have gone on to careers, universities and training in science, technology, engineering and maths in the region and beyond”.
