Five teams of Year 12 engineers from WMG Academy Trust in Solihull came to Birmingham Airport to begin their site visit! Hosted by Andy Holding, our students had a tour of the Air Rail Link structure and pedestrian spaces.
As part of the Air Rail Link project, the students need to consider structural engineering aspects, mechanical and electrical engineering aspects, commercialisation, customer journey, sustainability (and keep within budget!) Photographs were taken to support their research and they had the chance to speak with Birmingham Airport staff, including John Gregory, to get a professional understanding of engineering and ask their questions. Thank you to Andy Hale for coordinating the visit, our students returned back to WMG Academy for Young Engineers Solihull and immediately dived into their planning!
