WMG Academy Trust Board
WMG Academy for Young Engineers is overseen by the WMG Academy Trust. The Trust is made up members from industry and the University of Warwick who lead the development of WMG Academy and oversee its running from a strategic perspective. Ethan Harries – Chair of Solihull Local Governing Body
Ethan Harries is Chair of Governors at WMG Academy for Young Engineers Solihull and has a longstanding connection with the UTC movement. He was a member of the founding student cohort at WMG Academy Coventry before going on to work across UTCs, including at the WMG Academy Trust and Health Futures UTC. Ethan later worked in Westminster, serving as Chief of Staff to the Rt Hon Robert Halfon MP during his time as Chair of the Education Select Committee and subsequently Minister for Skills, Apprenticeships and Higher Education. Today, Ethan works as an education and strategy consultant, supporting organisations including BOA Group, Baker Dearing Educational Trust, The JCB Academy and UTC Swindon. His work spans strategy, governance, operations, policy and organisational development, with a particular interest in technical education, skills and improving opportunities for young people.
